  1. An gently bump for instructions, as a long owner of this great book, finally getting to this route in a couple weeks time. A long shot I reckon, given how long they’ve been ‘coming soon’, but still.

Love the book regardless, and much thanks!

    1. Hi Ben, slight problem here is that my pencil notes of the route directions from when I rode it have vanished somewhere in my office, so I’m going to have to hunt for them. Will try to find a solution soon. It’s quite an easy route to follow as there is already a ’round the Island’ cycle route with blue and white signposts. If you’re going print out a map from the website as backup until I get the turn by turns instructions sorted. Sorry about that. Jack

      1. Ahh I did the route over the bank holiday weekend, camping along the way. I thought the ending was pleasantly different from when I did it 7 years ago. Such a great journey. Lots of hills, but so much variety and beautiful views. The descent into Freshwater is brilliant fun too!

Hi any chance of the route directions coming soon. Have managed to print off a few other routes but not this one, yet.

  3. I have revised the route a little towards the end to take advantage of a new cycle route through Fishbourne, which is a great improvement. The map, GPX and PDF route directions are fully up-to-date.

  4. thanks very much for the gpx file- I found it a very enjoyable two day ride, going clockwise and stopping in Brightstone . I recommend a detour into Ventnor for ice cream (although it does add in a steep climb back onto the path) and I particularly liked the stretch by the Yar. Some of the road sections had quite fast moving traffic but they tended to be generous with passing space

  5. I did this route with a group of friends in June 2022 and we enjoyed it so much we are planning to do it again (anti clockwise) this June. The route is cracking and feels like a real achievement, we did it in one with an early start beginning and ending at Appley beach near Ryde.

This beach has a large long stay car park and my family & friends were able to enjoy the pleasures of a day at the beach whilst the cyclists made our way around the Wight.

A ride to make your Strava friends green with envy!
