Cycletouring the Tour de France

This year’s Tour de France starts on the island of Noirmoutier, on the Atlantic coast of western France. Jack rides the route of Stage one, in a touring style, taking in the rich landscape of sand dunes, beaches, tidal lagoons and salt marsh and sampling the gastronomic delights of the region.

Thanks to Vendée Tourism for logistical support for this journey.

  1. Jack, this has to be my favorite episode of all time. Beautiful job, friend. Your choice of music interludes was inspired. Loved the sections leading up to and following the discussion of the Brompton. Loved your thoughts on car vs auto. Five stars out of five for me!

  2. Great episode Jack. Would love to find time to ride all of that coastal route. And one of my favourite Neil Young songs into the bargain!

  3. Thank you for such an inspirational and beautiful podcast! Traffic free cycling is unbeatable, even if the progress is slower!
